Welcome to Mangoola Open Cut

Description of Operation

Mangoola Open Cut is an open cut coal operation in the Wybong area, 20 kilometres west of Muswellbrook and approximately 10 kilometres north of the township of Denman. Mangoola Open Cut is based on a large, undeveloped coal reserve of approximately 150 million tonnes (Mt). Mangoola Open Cut aims to provide a long term, secure and profitable supply of high quality coal, whilst conducting operations in an environmentally responsible manner through the effective management, mitigation and offsetting of environmental impacts. Mangoola Open Cut aims to support our local community and be a responsible community member.

Operational Update

Mangoola Open Cut continues to operate in accordance with Project Approval 06_0014 (as modified).  Run of mine (ROM) coal is extracted at a rate of up to 13.5 million tonnes per annum from the South Pit and Main Pit West.

Mangoola Coal is seeking approval for the Mangoola Coal Continued Operations (MCCO) Project to continue its current open cut mining adjacent to the north of the existing Mine. For more information regarding the MCCO Project, please refer to the Future Mining page.
